Soo lets have a new competition, "Sad Portraits" competition

Participate with any portrait that resembles sadness.

Rules for competition:
You MUST be a member of the club to enter.
The artwork MUST be done by you and NOT a rip off from someone else!
Submissions have to portray or represent the theme "Sadness" as a portrait.
Old deviations from your gallery are acceptable.
Note the club with the link to your submission and the subject "Sad Portrait Competition!.
Maximum TWO entries per member
Please Submit your BEST work!

- If anyone would like to donate any prize (features, subscriptions, etc) feel free to note us and we'll give you a special honourable mention!

The emirates group here on Deviant Art houses a lot of creative people. A message from to everyone who wants to put that creative energy to social use. The uniqueness of the social service group, Creative Majlis, lies in the fact that they ask you to contribute your creative skills, not money. The following will give you more information.

Creative Majlis is a unique voluntary organisation in Dubai
that offers a platform for creative professionals and social
service enthusiasts to volunteer their skills and talent for
social causes. Established in 2006 by two Dubai based
creative professionals, Farrukh Naeem and Mayura Sandeep, today
we are about 450 volunteers from both UAE and around the world.
Together, we contribute to social welfare projects by
offering our professional time to UAE-based NGO's and by creating effective community service projects of our own.

Creative Majlis is the only such non-profit organisation in
the UAE that encourages people to contribute through their
own professional skills and talent - to do what you are good
at for the good of others. Some of the NGO's that we
have offered our voluntary services to include, The Al Noor
Centre for Children with Special Needs, Dubai Foundation For
Women & Children, Yayasen Kinderhut Indonesia and
Emirates Environmental Group.

On the verge of being registered with the Ministry of
Social Affairs as a UAE based NGO, Creative Majlis would like to invite volunteers to strengthen and support
our cause. We request visionaries, business leaders,
cultural achievers, active community service professionals
and every individual who would like to volunteer their
professional time to needy NGO's in the UAE, to join us
and guide us towards a more successful future.

you can also be a "supporter" by just watching us, but note that by just watching us you won't be a "member".


HOW TO SUBMIT

The way of submitting will be different. *emirates is going to use the "collections" submissions system. Many of you already know about this type, but i will explain what it is to the others.

Instead of submitting your photos into our galleries, we will "fave" your photos and drag them into monthly and weekly folders. For example: "january 2009" "February 2009" or etc.. This will increase the exposure on ur photos because whoever likes the photo will simply fave it without checking if the photo is the original one or a club submission.

In other words, this will stop people from 'faving' your photos that are submitted in our gallery. The collections system is really great and if you worry that your photo won't be seen then DONT worry. Finally, this new system is much faster and easier than the old way.

You can ONLY submit TWO photos per week.
Please send us the "thumb" of the picture, and NOT the "link".
Send us the submission(s) in ONE note with a subject. Please don't send us "no subject" notes !
You can submit any type of photo, except nudity and such.
